Jean Parton Messamore, age 62, of Clinton, passed away on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at her home.
She was a member of Clinton Church of God and had been a Sunday school teacher.
Jean was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Parton; mother, Doris Moore; and her grandmother, Ellen Loveday, whom she was very close to.
Jean is survived by her husband, H.L. “Vern†Messamore of Clinton; son, Scott Messamore of Clinton; daughter, Stephanie Messamore of Oak Ridge; sisters, Ann Pressley of Clinton, Faye Bice of Heiskell, Wanda Steelman of Harriman, and Louise Parton of Sevierville; and stepfather, Jess Moore of Clinton. Jean also leaves behind her dog, Sassy, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jean’s family will receive her friends from 6–8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, at First Wesleyan Church in Clinton. Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at First Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Sam Condon officiating. Jean’s interment will be immediately following her service at the Farmers Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
