Janet Sue Cox, 63, of Clinton, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Tennova Hospital in Knoxville.
She was born in Clintwood, Va., on Jan. 24, 1950, the daughter of Lester and Betty K. Branham. Janet graduated from Clinton High School with the Class of 1968. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, taking cruises, and spending time with her friends, family, and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Betty K. Branham.
Janet is survived by her father, Lester Branham; two children, Tonya Cox Dycus and Stephanie Cox Nichols; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Nichols, Jessica Dycus, and Johnny Dycus; her brother, Danny L. Branham and wife Kathy Branham; her nephew and niece, Daniel Branham, M.D., and Katie Branham, Doctor of Law; special friends, George Kelly, Betty Kelly, Alicia Long, and Nancy Hendricks; and many other relatives and friends.
Janet’s family will receive her friends on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 12–2 p.m. with her funeral service at 2 p.m., all in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton, with Rev. Wayne Hedrick officiating. Her interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Norris Memorial Gardens in Norris.
