William Edward “June” King, Jr. was born in Boonesville, Miss., on May 28, 1950, and departed on Dec. 15, 2013. He resided in Oak Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William King Sr. and Georgia Mae King, and sister, Georgia Marie King.
He was a journeyman machinist at Martin Marietta Energy Systems and Boeing. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, a rescue unit, for several years. He enjoyed car racing, working on cars, and watching television and movies. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his first granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara King, of Oak Ridge; children, Jeana (Harry) Leverette, of Lenoir City, Wendy (Sean) Yates, of Dayton, and Sarah and Rod King, of Lenoir City; granddaughter, Natalie Grace Leverette, of Lenoir City; sisters, Mae Jean King, of Knoxville, and Lutricia Stone, of Louisville, Ky.; aunts, Bethel Hurd, of Rienzi, Miss., Gennie Thurman, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ruby Brown and Mae Francis Stovall, of Chicago, Ill.; uncle, Roosevelt Hurd, of Detroit; former wife, Wanda King, of Lenoir City; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Services will be held at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 195 Wilberforce Ave. in Oak Ridge, on Saturday, Dec. 21. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and services will follow, with the Rev. T.L. Mims and Pastor Woody Martin officiating. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
