James Brian Shultz, age 50, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, following an automobile accident.
Brian was born Jan. 27, 1963, in Columbus, Miss. He and his family moved to Tennessee in 1981, where he had continued to live.
Before his disability, Brian was employed as a warehouse operator for 15 years at Cardinal Health Inc. of Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy Andy Shultz and Naomi Ollis Shultz; by his maternal grandparents, Mose and Flossie Duncan; and by an aunt, Lorene Duncan.
Mr. Shultz is survived by his wife, Angel Mincey Shultz of Knoxville; by a daughter, Natalie Grace Shultz of Knoxville; by his parents, James P. and Katherine Duncan Shultz; by uncles, Lendle Duncan and wife Dottie, of Clinton, and Lanford Duncan and wife Thelma, of Oliver Springs; by his aunt, Lavada Washington, of Oliver Springs; by his in-laws, Marcus and Nancy Perkins of Halls; and by a sister-in-law, Julie Turgeon and husband Carlton, of Halls.
He is also survived by several cousins; by special nieces, CiAnne Fortner of Knoxville and Marina Fortner of Nashville; by a host of special friends; and his beloved pets, Rosie and Jaxon.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 15, between 2 and 3 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating. Burial and graveside services will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
