Treī-Roan Ryan Vann, age 8, of Oak Ridge went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013.
Treī-Roan was born July 25, 2005, in Newport News, Va., the son of Crist Alvin Vann Jr. and his biological mother Angelia Myers.
He was in the third grade at Linden Elementary School, where his favorite subjects were science and social studies. More than anything, Treī-Roan loved to learn. It did not matter about what, if someone was willing to teach he wanted to learn.
He was a member of Cub Scout Pack #226 out of Linden. He enjoyed reading, collecting, and working with Legos, video games, and playing soccer, and he played football at the Boys and Girls Club of Oak Ridge, where he was on the defensive line. He was always a very thoughtful and compassionate young man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. If you knew Treī-Roan, there is one thing for sure: He would have put a smile on your face at one time or another.
Treī-Roan is preceded in death by his grandmothers Aurelia Vann and Nelda Watson, sister April Myers, aunt Philamena Parrott, and several other extended family members. He is survived by his parents Crist Alvin and Amy Vann Jr. of Oak Ridge; biological mother Angelia Lowe of Virginia; siblings David Vann of Virginia, Nikki Daughtrey and her husband Marcus of Virginia, Katie Myers of Virginia, and Chynna Taylor of Tennessee; grandparents, Crist A. and Belinda Vann Sr. of Virginia, Johnnie and Janet Myers Jr. of Virginia, and Russell Watson of Ohio; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who all loved and will miss Treī-Roan.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Principal Roger Ward of Linden Elementary School officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial fund to assist the Vann family has been set up at the Bank of America, 795 W. Main Street, Oak Ridge, TN 37830, and checks should be made payable to the Oak Ridge Schools with Treī-Roan Ryan Vann in the memo section.
