Patricia C. “Trish” Holst

Patricia C. Holst, 67, born in Dunedin, Fla., to Delpha Garrett Holst and Emery Holst, died Oct. 29, 2013, at her home in Knoxville from colon cancer.

Trish was an educational consultant in private practice for 33 years in Oak Ridge. She has helped hundreds of children and adults apply the latest scientific knowledge and brain science to solving problems of learning and enhancing academic excellence. She loved dogs and always took her dog to work to assist in the learning process.

Trish loved music and led the Sorta Singers, a group who just loved to sing and play music. She played guitar, mandolin, and banjo.

Trish is survived by her loving partner Holly White and her extended family: Anita White; Russ and Margaret White; Amy and Dan Baker; Laurie White and Tim Craze; Bill, Jan, Megan, and Drew White; longtime friend and adopted sister Roberta Boone; and Trish and Holly’s beloved dog, Eagle.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church at 1500 Oak Ridge Turnpike, with the Rev. Jake Morrill officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Trish’s memory to the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, CONTACT Care Line (formerly CONTACT Helpline), or a charity of your choice.
