Superintendent Bruce Borchers will share his initial impressions of education in the Oak Ridge Schools and his priorities and goals during a Wednesday luncheon meeting of Altrusa International Club.
Borchers’ presentation is titled “Seeing Oak Ridge Schools through Fresh Eyes.”
The luncheon meeting will be at the DoubleTree Hotel on South Illinois Avenue. It starts at 11:45 a.m., and visitors with reservations are welcome to attend.
Borchers accepted the superintendent’s position in May and began work in his new role this summer.
“I am excited to work in a system known for its fine schools,” Borchers said, “and proud to be part of a school community where education is valued.”
Before he started in Oak Ridge, Borchers led the 22,000-student Rockwood School District in Eureka, Mo.
Altrusa International is a service organization comprised of community members focusing on leadership, partnership, and service with an emphasis on literacy and education.
