Dorothy McGill

Dorothy McGill, age 79, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at NHC in Knoxville.

Dorothy was the world’s greatest mother ever known and our best friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Myrtle Christopher; husband, Paul McGill; son, Jimmy Ray McGill; and brother, Marion Henry Christopher.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, James Edward McGill of Knoxville, Lawrence Buford McGill and wife Priscilla of Knoxville, Harold McGill and wife Lisa of Georgia, and Freddie McGill and Courtney of Clinton; brother Johnny Christopher and wife Charlotte of Florida; sister, Mamie Arzella Collins of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Dorothy’s family and friends met at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, for her graveside service at Pleasant View Baptist Church cemetery in Clinton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jones Mortuary LLC., 375 N Main Street, Clinton, TN 37716.

Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
