The United Way of Anderson County will host its annual golf tournament on Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Oak Ridge Country Club.

“Proceeds from this tournament directly support UWAC’s 34 partner agencies,” said David Wilson, tournament chairman. “Every sponsorship and every team registration is so important and so appreciated.”

This year, the tournament will feature two divisions. The Pro Division will offer platinum, gold, and silver sponsors a local club pro to play as their fourth in a modified scramble. The Champions Division will have four players with a team handicap. Prizes will be awarded to the top two teams in each division.

The registration fees include lunch and dinner, green fees, snacks, and beverages. Each player will receive a gift sponsored by Ben’s Home Centers and Dr. Brett Jaffrey. There will also be hole-in-one prizes including $5,000 cash, a new car, a Pebble Beach vacation, and $1,000 gift certificate to Peter’s Jewelers.

“Our tournament is traditionally in May, but sponsor response was slow,”  said Rick Morrow, executive director for United Way of Anderson County. “We are hoping our communities and companies are in a better position this fall to offer their support.”

Sponsors already committed are SAIC, UT-Battelle, B&W Y-12, and Y-12 Federal Credit Union and nearly a dozen $100 hole sponsors, including Enrichment Federal Credit Union, South East Equipment Sales, Scarboro Learning Center Board of Directors, UCOR, UWAC Board of Directors, Tom Hilton, and the UWAC 2013 Campaign Family The Crowes.

For registration and sponsorship information, visit UWAYAC.org or contact Jennifer Pettyjohn at (865) 483-8431.

UWAC and its 34 community partners with 51 vital programs address three core needs of the community: basic human meeds, youth development, and the needs of seniors. For more information, call (865) 483-8431 or visit www.unitedwayandersoncounty.org.
