Diann Reynolds Pride

Diann Reynolds Pride, age 65, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at her home while surrounded by her family.

Diann was born June 28, 1948, in Coalfield. She has lived in Oliver Springs for the past 47 years.

She was employed for several years in the cafeteria at the Oliver Springs Middle School.

Diann was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she was a member of the Tuppertown Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Marie Solomon Reynolds; by her husband, Joseph Ernest “Joe” Pride; by a sister, Sonya Michelle Monday; by a brother, Steve Edward Reynolds; by her in-laws, Rev. H. Bryson and Lucille Lively Pride; and by brothers-in-law; Carl Pride, James Pride, and Lonald Daugherty.

Diann is survived by a daughter, Sherry Ann Pride and Barry Parsons, of Harriman; by sons; Joseph Ernest Pride Jr. and wife Stacey of Oliver Springs, and Chief Petty Officer Roger Lynn Pride and wife Lori of NAF Atsugi, Japan; by grandchildren, Ashley Gaylor and husband Sanie, Whitney Green and fiancé Tyler Walls, Melaney Green, Tony Pride, Taylor Pride, Chris Pride, Bryson Higgins Pride, Elijah Pride, Jorda Arndts, Mariah Love, Tyson Parsons, Ariel Parsons, and Hunter Parsons; and by great-grandchildren, Anlynn Walls, Ariel Arndts, and Jordan Arndts.

Additionally she is survived by brothers, David Reynolds and wife Judy of Harriman, Danny Reynolds of Stein, Germany, and Greg Reynolds and wife Christina of Harrisburg, Pa.; by brothers-in-law, Bobby Monday of Coalfield, and George Pride and wife Daine of Oliver Springs; and by sisters-in-law, Shirley Daugherty of Oliver Springs, Becky Pride of Oliver Springs, Kay Grimes and husband Jan, and Faye Russell and husband Richard, all of Georgia.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews including a special nephew Kristopher Reynolds, and other extended family members and special friends including, Margaret Robbins, Kris Jackson Lynn Bowling, Barbara Patterson, and all the ladies from the cafeteria at the Oliver Springs Middle School.

The family received friends Tuesday, Sept. 3, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. with Pastor Matt Reed and Pastor Ralph Wilson officiating. Burial and graveside services were held Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. at the Oliver Springs Cemetery.
