Paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren will give a lecture at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in the O’Brien Theatre at Roane State Community College in Harriman.

Warren will speak about the many hauntings that she and her late husband, Ed, investigated. The Warren’s most celebrated case involved their role as chief investigators of the haunting on Long Island, N.Y., that became the subject of a number one best-selling book and movie, “The Amityville Horror.”

Their most harrowing encounter in Harrisville, Pa., was recently depicted in the feature film “The Conjuring,” starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as the Warrens.

The lecture is sponsored by Roane State’s Student Engagement office and is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Roane State’s Harriman campus is located at 276 Patton Lane off Hwy 27. For driving directions go to http://www.roanestate.edu/?6257-Roane-County-Main-Campus.

Even though I don’t buy into it, I do find the subject fascinating. If I am not to busy, I might try to attend. If nothing else, as a well know writer it could be interesting.
