Herbert Dale Dittmer

Herbert Dale Dittmer, age 59, a resident of Knoxville and formerly of Coalfield, passed away, Friday, Aug. 23, at the Parkwest Medical Center, while surrounded by his loved ones.

Mr. Dittmer was born April 12, 1954, in Dodge County, Wis. He was a supervisor for Ryder Logistics in Vonore, Tenn. He was also the treasurer for the Lions Club in Coalfield for many years.

Herbert was an avid golfer and also loved gardening. He was also a loving father and grandfather and attended the Cokesbury United Methodist Church.

Mr. Dittmer is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Clarence Dittmer.

He is survived by his mother, Arleda Dittmer, of Cartersville, Ga.; by his wife of 33 years, Gayle Colston Dittmer, of Knoxville; by daughters, Wendy Washburn and husband Seth of Farragut, and Jennifer Kaset and husband Jason of Chattanooga; by granddaughters, Jordan, Julia, and Bailey, and by a grandson, Gram; by brothers, Tom Dittmer and wife Melody, Mark Dittmer and wife Robin, Jeff Dittmer and wife Sherry, Todd Dittmer and wife Michelle, and Danny Dittmer and wife Renee, all of Cartersville, Ga.; and by a sister Marilyn Huskins and husband Bill of Kingston, Ga.

Herbert is also survived by a sister-in-Law, Lorie Kennedy and husband Gary of Sunbright, and he is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

The family received friends Sunday, Aug. 25, at Sharp Funeral Home. A memorial service followed at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
