Jack William Moye

Jack William Moye, age 58, of Clinton, a devoted husband, father and papaw, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Methodist Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 9, 1954, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Jack Walter Moye and Mattie Elizabeth Jones Moye.

Mr. Moye was a 1973 graduate of Central Hower High School in Akron, where he took machining classes. He was employed by B&W Y-12 for 33 years as a machinist. He was a member of IAM, Local #480, and served as chief steward for four years. He also volunteered as a poll worker. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Phyllis Page Moye, who was the love of his life; sons, Michael Moye and wife Corien, and Adam Moye and wife Ashlee, all of Knoxville; sisters, Susan Moye of Akron, Ohio, and Sheryl Melkonian and husband Alex of West Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Taylor Currier, Amber, Raylen, Bailey, Abby, Caleb, Georgia Kate, and Adlee Moye; sister-in-law, Paulette Faile and husband Tom of Woodstock, Ga.; niece, Jennifer Bolding and husband Eric of Acworth, Ga.; nephew, Jeffrey Faile and wife Angela of Woodstock, Ga.; five great-nieces and -nephews; and his friends in the third mill at Y-12.

The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral service is Saturday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Eric Bolding officiating. Graveside services at Oak Ridge Memorial Park are private.
