Robert Watson

Robert R. “Bob” Watson

Robert “Bob” Watson, 72, of Clinton, peacefully passed away in the company of his family at Parkwest Hospital on the morning of Friday, Aug. 9, from cancer.

He is preceded in death by his son, Colin Watson.

A lover of books and music, fiercely loyal to his family, generous with his humor, and intellectually curious his whole life, Bob passed away while his son and wife read him Hamlet, interspersed with folk music from the ’60s, which he loved.

He is survived by Judie Watson, his wife; Gavin and Tomi Watson, his son and daughter-in-law, of Seattle, Wash.; his well-loved grandsons, Ulysses “Uly” and Leo; and his sister, Maggi Griffin “Jeff,” of LaFollette.

Boat builder, guitar player, and source of esoteric knowledge, Bob will be sorely missed by family and friends who admired him so much. He will be remembered privately at home with friends and family. If a spirit of generosity moves you, please consider giving to your local library.

Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
