Bruce Edward Williams Sr.

Bruce Edward Williams Sr., 87, of Oak Ridge passed away on Aug. 10 at Parkwest Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Rewey, Wis., to parents Henry H. Williams and Mary Ruth Hackman Williams.

Mr. Williams retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems in 1992 as a machinist after 30 years of service.

He was a veteran with the U.S. Army and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He was a kind and loving gentle man who loved his family and all things nature.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Joyce Evers Williams in 2001, and by his brother, Charles Henry Williams, and sister, June Ponder.

Survivors include daughter, Linda Williams Bosley of Taylors, S.C.; sons, Bruce Edward Williams Jr. and wife Lorna Gibson Williams of Jacksboro, Russell Eugene Williams and wife Charlotte Patterson Williams of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Robert Bosley of Mackinaw, Ill., Donna Bosley of Greenville, S.C., Cheryl Bosley Palea of Houston, Texas, Peggy Bosley Ward of Taylors, S.C., Brian Bosley of Greenville, S.C., Lindsey Bosley Maxwell of Provo, Utah, Ria Williams Lively of Oak Ridge, Rebekah Williams, Ryan Williams, and Renae Williams, all of Knoxville, Russell Williams II of LaFollette; Tara Williams Hill of Jacksboro, Erica Williams Adams of Americus, Ga., Amber Williams Ford of Oak Ridge, and Bruce Williams III of Johnson City; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 13, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 140 S. Jefferson Circle, in Oak Ridge, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. with Bishop Eric Tobler officiating.
