As people age, they will most likely take many more medications than in their younger years and sometimes the medicines are from many different doctors as well. A scary problem can occur when these medications do not work well together.
Bring your prescription medications to the Senior Center at noon Aug. 30 to help prevent these possible problems. The Oak Ridge Senior Center in conjunction with the Allies for Substance Abuse of Anderson County will be presenting a Lunch-and-Learn with South College School of Pharmacy and physician’s assistant students, followed by one-on-one consultations regarding each person’s medications.
Lunch and all materials will be provided free of charge. To register, call the Oak Ridge Senior Center at (865)-425-3999 by Aug. 26. Space is limited, so reserve your spot soon.
Also, prevent the misuse of unused drugs. Anyone can bring unwanted, unused, or expired medications to this event to be disposed of properly.
