Perma-Fix Environmental Services Inc. has announced the promotion of Richard Macon to vice president of Nuclear Services Business Development.
In this role, Macon will be responsible for pursuing opportunities, developing proposal “win themes,” and forming strategic partnerships to further company growth, a press release said. Macon will continue to cultivate relationships with Perma-Fix’s new and existing clients, including the U.S. Department of Energy and Department of Defense, commercial nuclear industry, and Canada.
“Richard has done an excellent job researching new pursuits and representing us with clients,†said Renee Echols, Perma-Fix senior vice president of sales and marketing. “He will continue to be instrumental in the future growth of Perma-Fix Nuclear Services.â€
A Middle Tennessee native, now residing in East Tennessee for more than 20 years, Macon actively participates in community and industry organizations such as the East Tennessee Economic Council; Energy, Technology, and Environmental Business Association; and the Society of American Military Engineers. In addition, Macon manages the company’s mentor protégé program and provides technical direction for proposals.
The press release said Macon has more than 22 years of professional and managerial experience including project management work for demolition, environmental construction, waste management, engineering, and technical staffing companies. Macon earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Tennessee Technology University in Cookeville, Tenn., and has been with Perma-Fix since 2010.
