Rickey Allen Lively

Rickey Allen Lively, age 58, a resident of Powell, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, at Methodist Medical Center.

Rickey was born Nov. 7, 1954, in Harriman. He grew up and lived in Oliver Springs until his move to Powell in 1983.

Mr. Lively was a coal miner and a member of the Union Valley Baptist Church. Rickey loved people, and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities, and playing his guitar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramsey Lively and Pauline Melton Lively; and by a brother, James Ramsey Lively.

Rickey is survived by his wife of 29 years, Katherine Moneymaker Lively of Powell; by a son, Roger Thomas Lively of Knoxville; by a daughter, Whitney Lively of Oak Ridge; by sisters, Ola Halburnt and husband Clyde of Oliver Springs, Darlas Daugherty and husband Roger of Oliver Springs, Sandra Burney and husband Stanley of Harriman, and Carolyn Braden of Oliver Springs; and by brothers, Doug Lively and wife Rita of Coalfield, and Bob Lively and wife Kay of Oliver Springs.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends, including a very special friend, Beaver Smith.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 5, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Morgan and Pastor Darlene Miller officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at the Union Valley Cemetery.
