TBI seeks public’s help in Morgan man’s murder

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public’s help in finding out who killed an elderly Morgan County man whose body was found inside his house last weekend.

Morgan County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the home of Harold Dean Reed, 76, on White Oak Creek Lane last weekend and found the man’s body with what were described as obvious signs of trauma.

The TBI says it is unclear how long he had been dead before his body was found. Results of an autopsy performed earlier this week have not been released.

It appears robbery was the motive as investigators believe that an undetermined amount of cash was stolen in addition to an F.I.E. Frontier Six Shooter .22-caliber revolver with a chrome finish and a black handle. Anyone with information about Reed’s murder, the stolen cash, or the missing revolver is asked to call the TBI at (800) 824-3463.
