Relay for Life will be held indoors at the Oak Ridge High School tonight due to the risk of bad weather, the American Cancer Society said.

“We will be in the corridor and the B Gym,” representative Kayla Shelby said in a statement Thursday. She said participants should enter through the doors they would use to go to the arena, and the event will be modified, ending at midnight.

No tents are needed, the statement said.

“Each team that had an assigned campsite will have a place designated inside the building with a table and chairs,” the statement said. “You are welcome to decorate. There will still be a best campsite award. Also, please bring towels to put under your coolers. If you are hair painting or doing anything that would make a mess on the floor, please bring a sheet or tarp to put under your area.”

Teams can set up at 12 p.m. and should be ready to go by 5:30 p.m., and they should continue with your plans for on-site fundraisers.

Cancer survivor registration will take place at 5:30 p.m.. There will be a survivor area and the reception before the opening ceremony at 6 p.m.

“The luminaria bags and torches will be set up, and the ceremony will continue as planned at 10 p.m.,” the statement said. “We will be illuminating the bags with large glow sticks, and the location of the torches will depend on the current weather conditions.

“If you have an inflatable, there is an area in which you can set up just outside. If it is not raining, you can still set it up. If you are grilling, please bring a 10×10 tent to set up outside. You will be able to grill outside and move your food indoors.”
