James Ralph Nester, Jr.

James Ralph Nester, Jr., age 65, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Friday, May 24, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

James was born April 4, 1948, in Mount Airy, N.C. He lived in Winston/Salem, N.C., Charleston, S.C., and Roanoke, Va., before moving to Tennessee in 1995.

Before his retirement, he was employed as the auto sales manager at Clayton Automotive in Knoxville.

He was a member of Batley Baptist Church, and his hobbies included golfing and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ralph Nester, Sr., and Betty Bowman Nester.

He is survived by Carolyn Sue Sigler of Oliver Springs; and by children, Jeannie Williams and companion David Lowman of Greer, S.C., Rudy Nester and companion Tonya Barrett of Marion, N.C., Andrea Nester of Mocksville, N.C., and Tammie Pyke and husband Phillip of Clinton.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Dawson, Chance, Shea, Amber, Kayla, Matthew, and Skyler.

The family received friends Tuesday, May 28, between 6 and 7 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Luke Kidwell officiating.
