Charles Edward Benham, Sr.

Charles Edward Benham, Sr., age 61, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Thursday, May 23, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

Mr. Benham was born July 20, 1951, in Oliver Springs. He was a lifelong resident of East Tennessee.

He was a self-employed residential building contractor, and his hobby included restoring antique autos.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Nunn Benham and Dixie Rose Hagen Benham.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Sherwood Benham of Claxton; by sons, Michael Benham and wife Jillyan of Claxton, and Charles Edward Benham, Jr., and wife Tonya of Claxton; and by three grandsons, Jacob Benham, Bradley Benham, and Jonathan Machleit.

He is also survived by three sisters, Shelby Gardner and husband Arthur of Oak Ridge, Jackie Noneo and husband Chester of Oak Ridge, and Rose Christman and husband Butch of Nevada; and by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Services will be private. Sharp Funeral Home is serving the Benham family and a guest book is available at www.sharpfh.com.
