The Oak Ridge Community Band has its annual Memorial Day Concert on Monday evening in A.K. Bissell Park.

The music program will be dedicated to paying tribute to military veterans and to the men and women currently serving in the United States Armed Forces, a press release said. The concert starts at 7 p.m., and there is no admission fee, although donations will be “gratefully accepted to help offset band expenses,” a press release said.

It’s the first of the summer series of performances by the Community Band, and it will be followed by concerts on July 4, Aug. 4, and Sept. 2.

The release said audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for outdoor seating, and there is also a paved area for wheelchairs. Refreshments will be available for sale.

A.K. Bissell Park is at 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

For more information, visit the Community Band’s website at www.orcb.org or call (865) 482-3568.
