Ella Jean ‘Jeanie’ Lane

Ella Jean “Jeanie” Lane, age 57, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, at her home.

Jeanie was born Jan. 28, 1956, in Oliver Springs. She was a lifelong resident of this area.

Jeanie was a loving mother and grandmother and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She loved playing with her grandson, Eli, and she enjoyed cooking and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Frances Hattaway Lane, and by sisters, Lola Faye Boruff and Donna Hawn. 

She is survived by a son, Charles Joe Kimblin; by a grandson, Eli Edison Kimblin, both of Oliver Springs; by a brother, Charles Boruff and wife Margaret, of Lake City; and by sisters, Willie Mae Coapman of Clinton, Jewell Hooks and husband Billy, of Clinton, Linda Hughes and husband Stanley, of Harriman, and Patty Phillips and Lisa Lane of Oliver Springs.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends including Debbie Tedder and Wanda Hovater.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 9, between 5 and 7 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. in the old sanctuary with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating.
