Ruth Queen Smith will be the featured speaker at a afternoon meeting today of the Women’s Interfaith Dialogue of Oak Ridge.

Her talk, titled “Ruth, Miriam and the Woman at the Well,” will focus on these prominent women, and how the cultural differences of all three are reflected in Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Smith is a pastoral associate at John XXIII University Parish.

Today’s talk starts at 2 p.m. at Grace Covenant Church.

A press release said Smith has been a recognized leader in scriptural scholarship for many years.

It said WID members represent a number of varied faith traditions and perspectives. Their programs and projects aim to bring together women of diverse faith, color, and culture to explore, understand and learn from one another. Their purpose is to advance justice, compassion, friendship, and human rights, with a focus on women and children. However a most enjoyable part of association with each other is simply sharing each other’s spiritual journeys as friends.

For more information, call Carolyn Dipboye at (865) 483-6752 or Fran Silver at (865) 483-4284.

Grace Covenant Church is located at 320 Robertsville Road in the Trinity Center Building.
