Free mammogram screenings are available at the Belk store in Oak Ridge today and Saturday.
They are offered by the BelkGives on the Go Mobile Mammography Center, a 39-foot-long screening center on wheels, a press release said. Women age 40 and over with no breast concerns, who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months, and who have a primary care physician are eligible by calling (855) 655-BMMC (2662) to schedule an appointment.
The remaining dates and locations are:
- Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. at Belk Oak Ridge Mall, 333 Main Street East, Oak Ridge
- Tuesday, May 7, 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. at Belk Parkway Place, 655 Parkway, Sevierville
- Thursday, May 9, 9:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m. at Belk Foothills Mall, 173 Foothills Mall Drive, Maryville
- Saturday, May 11, 9:30 a.m –7 p.m. at Belk, Belk Plaza, 1516 Decatur Pike, Athens
The press release said all screening exams are performed by Charlotte Radiology’s licensed, female mammography-certified technologists. A board-certified radiologist, specialized in breast imaging will interpret the mammogram. Confidential results will be sent to the patient and her primary care physician.
