Marsha Lee Tilley, age 55, of Lake City, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 13, at her home.

Marsha was an active member of Browns Flat Baptist Church in Briceville. Marsha spent most of her time with her family (especially her grandkids) and enjoyed every moment with them. If she wasn’t spending time with family, she was on the phone with them, or special friends, which she had many of.

Her family wanted everyone to know that she was a very giving person who always put others before herself, and she never went a day without a glass full of coca-cola.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents Lonas and Loma Jean (Lay) Phillips; sisters, Myrtle Irene Phillips, Brenda Gail Phillips, and Alma Jean Phillips; brother, Michael Phillips; son-in-law, Stevie Finch; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Tilley; and special friend, Mary E. Childress.

Marsha is survived by her husband of 35 years, whom she loved dearly, Jerold Tilley, of Lake City: son, Lonas Matthew Tilley and wife Betty (Childress) Tilley of Heiskell; daughter, Chrystal Finch of Lake City; grandchildren, Dennis, James, Tiffany, and “Bubba” Tilley of Heiskell, Marsha, Angel, Lavada, and Stevie Finch of Lake City (these were Marsha’s pride and joy); sister and brother-in-law, Deloris J. McCoy and husband Ronnie of the Medford community; nephew, Rodney McCoy, Libbie Ann Huckaby and husband David; niece and nephew, Rachel and Isaiah of Lake City, Chrissy Tilley and family of Maine, Sue and family of Texas, Jimmy Tilley and family of Arizona, Kenny and Debbie Tilley and family of Athens, Tenn.; aunts and uncles, Frankie and Odis Weaver of Powell, Calvin and Bee Phillips, Harry Phillips, Eli Phillips, Johnny Phillips, Murdis Phillips, James Phillips, and Mary Morales; special friends, Tim and Callie Ivey, and family, Wanda Hughes, Margaret and James Davis, Wig Brown; and a host of other family and friends.

“To my friends and family and the world, my last words would be, come go with me! To see Jesus, oh what a blessing that would be.”

Marsha’s family received her friends on Wednesday, April 17, from 12-2 p.m., with her funeral service following at 2 p.m. at Browns Flat Baptist Church in Briceville, with Rev. Jay Brown officiating. Marsha’s interment followed her funeral service in the church cemetery.

Jones Mortuary is in charge of all arrangements.
