Helen Jean Beets

Helen Jean Beets, age 83, of Knoxville, passed away early Thursday morning, March 28, at Tennova Hospital in Knoxville.

Jean was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, but had recently been attending Wallace Memorial Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucille Beets; brothers, Howard, John Jr., and Ralph Beets; sister, Lois Sewell; brother-in-law, John Davis Jr.; and sisters-in-law, Juanita and Erminia Beets.

Jean is survived by sister, Alma Davis of Knoxville, nephew, John Davis and wife Pam, great-niece, Brittany Davis, all of Powell; brother-in-law, Kenneth Sewell of Forrest Park, Ga.; special friends, Al and Peggy Sherrill of Knoxville; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jean’s family will receive her friends on Monday, April 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary in Clinton. Her funeral service will begin at 8, following the visitation, with Rev. Kent Williams officiating.

Jean’s interment will be Tuesday, April 2, at 4 p.m. at Clinch River Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake City.
