Fred C. Douglas Jr.

Fred C. “Tiger” Douglas Jr., age 42, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, March 17, at Methodist Medical Center.

He was born July 7, 1970, in Oak Ridge, the son of the late Fred C. Douglas Sr. and Mary K. Bounds Douglas.

Fred was a student at the Emory Valley Center, and he worked in the Center’s workshop. He enjoyed cooking and dancing. He also enjoyed listening to music. Gospel music was one of his favorites.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his loving aunts and uncles, James (Dorothy) Wheeler, Hazel Wheeler, William “Fat” Wheeler, and James “Bruddy” Wheeler.

He is survived by his mother, Mary K. Douglas; brothers, Paul D. Bounds, Walter K. Bounds, and William C. Douglas; uncle, Jim (Mary) Bounds; and dear and devoted cousin, JoAnn (William) Dickey, and cousins, Sandra Smith, Barbara (Raymond) McCroskey, Dorothy Elaine Driver, Jessica (Mitch) Snow, Kimberely (Reginald) Mobley, William (Lisa) Wheeler, Thomas Wheeler, and Earl Weaver.

The family received friends on Saturday, March 23, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Scarboro Church of Christ. The funeral began at 2 p.m. with Minister Charles Caruthers officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
