Dorothy (Dot) Bearden Walker, 93, of Oak Ridge, passed away Tuesday, March 19, at NHC of Oak Ridge, where she had been a resident since December 2008.

She was a member of Robertsville Baptist Church in Oak Ridge.

Born in Nashville, daughter of W.C. and Gladys Bearden, she moved to Oak Ridge with her first husband, William Knoch, and children in 1949. She began working at the former Hamilton National Bank at the Grove Center facility in 1952 and retired after 28 years in 1980. She married Jack Walker in 1978.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Walker Sr.; son, Charles Knoch; and grandson, Kenneth Kennedy.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Gerald) Brown of The Villages, Fla., and son, Earl (Brenda) Knoch of Oak Ridge; and stepchildren, Emmett (Sandy) Walker Jr. of Oak Ridge, Sharon (Kenny) Bivens, and Theresa Walker, all of Knoxville. She also is survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family owes a great deal of gratitude to long time and devoted care giver Jean Robinson.

The family received friends Thursday, March 21, at Weatherford Mortuary. A graveside service followed at Anderson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Brian Scott officiating.
