A section of East Drive will be closed Wednesday and Thursday for underground sewer line repairs. The work is expected to last throughout the night, a city press release said.
The road will be closed just south of the intersection of East Drive and Eaton Lane. The work will be done by Hurst Excavating, which will repair three sections of gravity sewer main. The road closure is expected to last throughout the night, but it could be delayed by bad weather.
Local traffic may access residences south of 287 East Drive from the intersection of East Drive and Audubon Road. Residences north of the closure and those who need to access side streets may use Alger Road to East Drive and those needing to detour around may use Audubon Road, the city press release said.
Hurst Excavating Co. is working under contract to the Oak Ridge Public Works Department and is presently doing work rehabilitation on the city’s wastewater collection system.
