George “Bill” Perry

George “Bill” Perry, age 83, of Lake City, passed away suddenly at his residence on Saturday, March 16.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loved his family dearly. Bill was a gentleman and was a friend to all. He enjoyed collecting all types of music and videos. Bill was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George H. and Clara Perry; wife, Sonya Faye Perry; brothers, James Perry; and sisters, Helen Bryant, Margaret Williams, Nellie Powell, Marie Snow, Edna Bradshaw, and Anna Mae Perry.

Bill is survived by his son, Darrell Perry and wife Betty of Powell; daughters, Paula Perry Gray of Lake City, and Donna Taylor and husband Michael of Powell; grandchildren, Renee, Justin and Rebekah; great-grandchildren, Allie, Cody and Holly Bullock, Autumn Massey, Brody Gray, Abbie White, Marlee Gray and one to be born soon; and also a host of other relatives and friends.

Bill’s family will receive his friends on Tuesday, March 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. with his celebration of life following at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Bro. Robert Jones officiating.

His interment will be Wednesday, March 20, at 1 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton with full military honors.

At Bill’s request, he would like everyone to stay after his services to have cake and ice cream.

Jones Mortuary in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
