Elnora Dorothy McGhee, age 83, a resident of Oliver Springs, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 7, at the Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge.

Mrs. McGhee was born April 5, 1929, on Clinch Mountain in Grainger County, Tenn. Following her marriage, at the age of 17, she moved to Oak Ridge. She later moved to Oliver Springs, where she has continued to live.

She was a former member of the Community Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. She had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Ridge since the late 1980s, and most recently, she had attended New Fairview Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. Before her illness, she enjoyed attending to the children in the nurseries at both Community and Calvary Baptist.

She retired from the Y-12 Federal Plant in Oak Ridge in 1992 following 15 years of employment. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and she entertained herself with Word Search.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer McGhee; by her parents, Samuel Heiskel Hayes and Nora E. Farmer Hayes; by a granddaughter, Kimberly Annette Aull; by brothers, Eulis, Virgil, Ralph, Barnett, and Willie Hayes; and by sisters, Ruth Lee, Ruby Leamon, Trula Hayes, and Monalee Davis.

Mrs. McGhee is survived by a daughter, Joyce Aull and husband Wayne of Oliver Springs; by sons, Steve McGhee and wife Betty of Oliver Springs, and Tim McGhee and wife Carla of Powell; by grandchildren, Wayne Allen Aull II of Oliver Springs, Amy Haney and husband Wade of Oliver Springs, Steven McGhee and wife Amber of Karns, Hannah McGhee of Powell, and Micah Bruner and husband Ethan of Louisville, Ky.; and by great-grandchildren, Dewayne Allen Aull, Emily Haney, Zachary McGhee, and Luke McGhee.

She is also survived by a sister, Zella White of Powder Springs, Tenn.; and by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends, including Matthew Moran and wife Kattie and son Austin, Lorie King and Bertha Jackson.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 9, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve McDonald officiating.

Burial and graveside services will be held Sunday, March 10, at 2 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens with Pastor John Edwards officiating.

The family ask that any memorial contribution be made to Briarcliff Health Care Center in Oak Ridge. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. An online guest book is available at www.sharpfh.com.
