Ronald David Braden

Ronald David Braden, age 71, a resident of the Frost Bottom Community in Anderson County, passed away Sunday, March 3, at his home.

Mr. Braden was born Nov. 22, 1941, in Anderson County. He was a lifelong resident of this area.

Before his retirement, David was a self-employed master mechanic, and he owned and operated Braden’s Automotive Repair. His hobbies included fishing and going to flea markets.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While serving, he received several medals, badges, citations, and ribbons.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Braden and Sibyl McCoy Braden; by a sister, Barbara Lloyd; and by a brother, Roger Dale Braden.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Braden of Frost Bottom; by a son, Ralph McDonald of Maine; by a daughter, Diane McDonald of Glenn Rock, Pa.; by step-children, Greg Morrow and wife Tina of McCaysville, Ga., and Teresa Hughes and husband Chris of Dalton, Ga.; and by six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and by three step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 7, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Harry Nix and Rev. Jay Braden officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Friday, March 8, at 2 p.m., with full military honors, at the Frost Bottom Cemetery.
