Daisy Lee Nichols, age 80, of Oliver Springs, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, at her home.

She was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Oliver Springs, the daughter of Wiley and Mattie Fletcher Johnson.

Mrs. Nichols was the owner and operator of Daisy’s Hair Salon. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #390. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, bird watching, working puzzles, and playing cards. Up until their health began to fail, she and her husband, William L. Nichols, were Snow Birds and spent their winters at the Rock Creek Campground in Naples, Fla. Her husband passed away on March 17, 2012.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Valerie Brown.

She is survived by children, Linda Blanton and husband Charles of Pasadena, Md., Rachel Nelson and husband Steve of Kingston, Sharon Stuart of Oliver Springs, and Michael Travis of the Marlow Community; stepsons, Ronnie Nichols and wife Deana, and Dean Nichols and wife Connie, all of Nashville; brother, Fletcher Johnson of Oliver Springs; sister, Judy Johnson of Andersonville; grandchildren, Michelle Heisler and husband Steven of Baltimore, Md., Christine Kehoe of Pasadena, Md., Jennifer Nelson of Kingston, Joseph Allen Stuart and wife Melissa of Corryton, James Stuart III and wife Julie of Knoxville, Tiffany Whitaker of Loudon, Jackson Nichols and wife Carly, and Clayton Nichols, Caitlin Nichols, Houston Nichols, Kari Nichols, Ryan Nichols and Graham Nichols, all of Nashville; and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Bailey, Skylar, Ethan, Mandy, Ali, Jude, Philip, Matthew, Madison, Hailie, Brooke, Bradley, Briley, and Brianna.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Bill Wagner officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
