Evelyn E. King

Evelyn E. King, age 96, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Norris Health and Rehab.

Evelyn was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she enjoyed playing the organ. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and quilting.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Cas and Bessie White Seivers; husband, James King; brothers, Elmer and James Seivers; and sisters, Laura Brooks and Norma Conniff.

Evelyn is survived by her nephews, Joe Seivers and wife Emily, Jeff Seivers and wife Rose, all of Clinton, Robbie Brooks and wife Sandy, of Anderson, S.C., and David Ray Seivers of Clinton; and nieces, Sue Vann and husband Leroy, Bernice Cox and husband Gary, and Marlene Bainum and husband, Larry, all of Clinton.

Evelyn’s family will receive her friends on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. with her funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with Dr. Kirk Wallace officiating. Her interment will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
