Helen Virginia Sellers Brinker

Helen Virginia Sellers Brinker, age 81, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, Jan. 10, at Summit View in Lake City.

She was born Nov. 30, 1931, near Wheat, Tenn., the daughter of William F. and Virginia Sellers.

Mrs. Brinker graduated from Fort Sanders School of Nursing and worked at Oak Ridge Hospital as an RN until she retired. She loved nursing, dogs, and the Atlanta Braves.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray S. Brinker; parents, William F. and Virginia D. Sellers; sisters, Mary Belle Strickland, Lucille Hatmaker, Ruth Baker, and Roberta Butler; and brothers, William F. Sellers Jr. and Houston Sellers.

She is survived by her son, John Brinker, and grandson Noah, of Florida; and several nephews and nieces, including special niece, Carolyn Hatmaker Cox.

The family expresses a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Summit View of Lake City for their care and compassion.

The family received friends on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 12-2 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral began at 2 p.m. with Rev. Don Morris officiating. The burial followed at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
