Seasonal influenza vaccine is still available at the Anderson County Health Department. The flu vaccine will be offered during normal clinic hours at 710 N. Main Street in Clinton.
Call the Health Department at (865) 425-8801 to make an appointment to get your flu vaccine.
There are a limited number of adult shots remaining, but there is an ample supply of the vaccine for children.
The Health Department urges vaccination as the best way to protect yourself and your family from the flu. There is no special pandemic vaccine this season as the 2012 seasonal flu vaccine includes protection against H1N1 flu in addition to two other strains of seasonal flu expected to circulate this year and has so far proven effective against the strain making the rounds in Tennessee.
Flu vaccine is also available from many other providers, including private physicians and pharmacies. The cost of the flu shot is free for adults, and for children, the cost of the flu shot slides for ages 18 and under, in some cases all the way down to free of charge.
Health Department officials stress that it is not too late to get a flu shot. The flu vaccine is especially important for people at risk of developing serious complications from the flu including pregnant women, children under 2 years old, and adults over the age of 65.
To make an appointment for vaccination or ask questions about flu vaccine, call the Anderson County Health Department at (865) 425-8801.
