Tracy Anne Ashburn, age 49, of the Mossy Grove Community, died Monday, Dec. 17, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

She was born March 20, 1963, in Knoxville, the daughter of Richard Lewis and Carolyn Anne Heard Mynatt, who survive her.

Mrs. Ashburn worked for 17 years as a merchandizing clerk with Kroger. She grew up in the Highland View Church of Christ and was a 1981 graduate of Oak Ridge High School.

Mrs. Ashburn enjoyed photography and crafting, especially with dried flowers and materials, which she collected herself. She loved animals, the outdoors and nature’s bounty.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, A. L. and Ella Mae Mynatt of Oak Ridge, and Warren and Dorothy Heard of Louisiana, and her father-in-law, Philip Ashburn of Oak Ridge.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 15 years, Darek Ashburn; brother, Richard “Rich” Mynatt of Oliver Springs; mother-in-law, Mary Ashburn of Oak Ridge; brother-in-law, Scott Ashburn and wife Carmela of Oak Ridge and their children, Robert and Olivia; many, many friends; and numerous extended family in Louisiana. She is also survived by her precious canine companions, Goldie, Bit Bit, and Buddy.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 12-2 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. with Curtis McClane officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family asks that memorials be made to the local Humane Society. An online guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
