Oak Ridge High School cheerleaders recently decorated two hospitality homes at Methodist Medical Center for Christmas.
The Hospitality Houses provide a home away from home for cancer patients and families receiving extended medical care at Methodist Medical Center.
“But just because some guests can’t be home during the holiday season doesn’t mean they have to miss the festive feel of garland-draped porches and trees glittering with lights,” a press release said.
The cheerleaders, along with two “Cheer Dads†and a “Cheer Mom,†hung garlands and bows on the outside of the houses and decorated the trees in the homes’ living room.
“The houses not only looked festive for all of the guests who are staying there during this season, but they were also a welcoming site for those who attended the Hospitality House Open House held on Dec. 11,” a press release said.
Participating cheerleaders included Rachel Byrd, Emma Chinn, Kourtney Daigle, Erin Douglas, Kaitlyn Elam, Lizzi Greer, Kelly Mahoney, Bailey Martin, Courtney Maynard, and Sierra Parks, plus Cheer Dads Jack Daigle and Des Mahoney, and Cheer Mom Deb Greer.
“Thank you to these service-minded cheerleaders and their parents for truly bringing cheer and spirit to the guests of the Hospitality Houses,” the press release said.
