Ina Jean Poore Baldwin

Ina Jean Poore Baldwin, 81, of Oak Ridge, made her entrance into Heaven on Dec. 19 at 3:30 a.m. with her family and her pastor at her side.

She was born March 24, 1931, in Benham, Ky., the daughter of Frank and Virginia Lynch Poore.

She married her sweetheart, Carson Baldwin, on June 7, 1952, in Monroe, Mich. They just celebrated their 60th anniversary with a celebration with family and friends and enjoyed a trip to Hawaii.

Mrs. Baldwin’s career was in nursing and sales.

She was an avid University of Tennessee fan. Her hobbies included antiques, BUNCO, playing Bingo at the Oak Ridge Senior Center, playing rook, crocheting, reading, traveling, golf, bowling, deep sea fishing, and salmon fishing.

She volunteered at Rockledge, Fla., Nazarene Church and also at New Life Nazarene Church in Oak Ridge, where she was an active member. She was Central Florida District cradle roll Director, Youth and Children’s Sunday School Teacher and Bible Quizzing coach for children’s quiz teams through the years, youth and children’s camp counselor, and also involved in local and world missions, including mission trips to Alaska and Costa Rica. She received a Central Forida leadership award for the Church of the Nazarene District.

Mrs. Baldwin was an awesome cook who loved to entertain with family and friends. She loved life and definitely loved serving God and always wanted people to feel loved and cared for. She knew she was a very blessed woman and shared her faith quite often.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ben, Audie, George, Fred, Denver, and Haskell; sister, Lorene Poore Allen; and granddaughter, Penny Dingus.

She is survived by her husband, Carson Baldwin; children, Pamela Davis, Ed Baldwin, and Eric Baldwin Sr. and wife Becky, all of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Phillip Dingus and wife Carol of New Tazewell, Melinda Davis of South Korea, Eric Baldwin Jr. of Oak Ridge, Sgt. Philip Davis and Erica Baldwin Davis of Honolulu, Hawaii; and brother, Isaac Poore and wife Doreen of Morristown.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 21, from 6–8 p.m. at New Life Church of the Nazarene. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Keith Robinson officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Baldwin–Duncan Cemetery in New Tazewell.

Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. An online guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.
