Arthur Clarence Taylor, age 68, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
Mr. Taylor was born July 26, 1944, in Oliver Springs. He was a lifelong resident of this area.
Before his disability, he worked in construction as a carpenter and electrician.
He was a member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church and his hobbies included fishing and billiards.
Arthur served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While serving, he received several medals, ribbons, citations, and accommodations, including an expert marksman’s badge.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virgie Gertrude Taylor, and by his grandparents, George and Minnie Bowling and Louis Taylor.
Arthur is survived by three children, Kimberly Renee Taylor, Arthur Thomas Taylor, and Willie Bunch and his fiancée Miranda Cummings of Oak Ridge, and by grandchildren, Trevor Levi Bunch and Kalli Jordan Bunch.
He is also survived by a sister, Nancy Harness of Oliver Springs, and by a host of special friends and extended family members.
The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 14, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Terry Braden officiating.
Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at Mineral Springs Cemetery. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
