Lucille Bond York

Lucille Candace Bond York, 83, of Oak Ridge, passed away on Dec. 5.

She was born in Wiggins, Miss. on Jan. 4, 1929, to parents Winfield Scott and Carrie McDonald Bond.

For many years, she worked at Methodist Medical Center as a registered nurse, being a very important role in life. She was a member of First Baptist Church, was interested in nature photography, and enjoyed gardening and wildflowers.

Survivors include her husband, John W. York III of Oak Ridge; sons, Bill York (Angie) of Memphis; Dan York of Hillsdale, Mich.; daughter, Faye Blaser of Bowman, Ga.; brother, Avon (Dolly) Bond; sisters, Lois Sanford (Roy), Scottie Manuel, Verna Smith, and Bessie (I.A.) Garraway, all of Mississippi; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 7, 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Borchert officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 p.m. Friday at the church.
