Went shopping in Oak Ridge to buy some paint and their ADA Wheelchair Accessible Parking was illegal—- the city of Oak Ridge, Police, plannning, code enforcement, city council have alll failed to notify Home Depo that they have had illegal parking since 2008……wow what a record. We can have regattas, rowing but let Senior Citizens and the disabled try to find parking is almost like a duck shoot in Oak Ridge.

Or go to Tinsletown. They have NO parking unless you are handicapped. You should buy an RV and move onto their parking lot. Live on popcorn and M&M’s . LOL The good life.

what happened to your post to say you were not going to post on Oak Ridge today for going off topic? That lasted less than 6 hours. John even asked you to stay on topic…Are there any businesses in Oak Ridge that meet your parking expectations?

Maybe if you said WHAT is illegal about it someone from Home Depot will see this and think that it might be a valid comment, instead of pointless repeated whining like I see it.

I suspect that Leroy’s “complaint” is that, even though Home Depot has some 12 handicap parking spaces, none meet the specifications for “van-accessible”. The “van-accessible” ones appear to be of fairly recent implementation and therefore, like in almost all such instances, businesses don’t have to retrofit to the new regs unless they do some sort of renovation. It would be my observation that while the “van-accessible” regulations are well intentioned, they are almost impossible to enforce even when such parking spaces are provided, as they are in Oak Ridge at the Wal-mart because people ignore the markings and don’t leave the required double sized spaces open. Leroy may be morally right, but he’s just uselessly tilting at windmills with his complaints.
