Alice Phillips Ferguson

Alice Phillips Ferguson, age 62, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, at her home.

Alice was born March 8, 1950, in Morgan County. She was a lifelong resident of this area.

She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her parents, James Phillips and Mamie Bunch Phillips; by brothers, Sam Junior Phillips and Terry Phillips; by a sister, Dollie Phillips Jackson; by a sister-in-law, Ivory Phillips; and by a brother-in-law, Carl Patria.

She is survived by her children, Allen Ferguson and wife Joanna, Annette Russell and husband Shannon, Tammy Ferguson, Christopher Ferguson and wife Kara, and Christina Ferguson, all of Oliver Springs; by grandchildren, Tabitha and husband Shawn, Samantha and husband Chris, Tosha and husband Jeffery, Shaun and wife Kate, Jonathan and wife April, Justin, Ashley, Larry, James, Nora, and Codie; and by several great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by brothers, Charles Phillips and wife Barbara of Oliver Springs, Oscar Phillips of Sunbright, James Phillips and wife Merlene of Oliver Springs, Robert Phillips and wife Kathy of Sunbright; and by sisters, Sally Patria and husband Carl of Florida, Ina Lou Gonzalez Tenner of Oliver Springs, and Christine Phillips of Oliver Springs. Additionally, she has several nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friends.

The family will receive friends, Friday, Oct. 5, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor David Burchfield officiating.

Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. at the Petros Cemetery.
