David Lester Murray

David Lester Murray, age 48, a resident of the Elverton Community in Roane County, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Roane Medical Center in Harriman.

Mr. Murray was born Sept. 15, 1964, in Oak Ridge. He was a lifelong resident of Roane County.

David was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Gene Murray Sr., and by a brother, Michael Keith Murray.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Juanita Murray of Elverton; by sisters, Judy Kerns and husband Delbert of Harriman, and Linda Phillips of Elverton; and by four brothers, Ernest Murray and wife Della of Elverton, Larry Murray of Elverton, Lewis Gene Murray Jr. and wife Pam of Kingston, and Mark Murray and wife Darlene of Elverton.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family received friends Thursday, Sept. 20, between 6 and 8 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral followed at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Preacher Junior York officiating.

Burial and graveside services will be held Friday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Elverton Cemetery.
