The Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge will host a pancake breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Applebee’s, 1213 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

The public is invited to come feast on pancakes in support of the Children’s Museum. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the front desk of the museum, 461 W. Outer Dr., or at the Applebee’s door on Sept. 8. Children’s Museum board members, staff, and members of Knoxville Area Model Railroaders will serve pancakes.

Children of all ages enjoy learning through play indoors and out at the Children’s Museum. Inside the museum, children may explore how children lived in historic Appalachia, wander through a rain forest, delight in a child-sized playhouse, create a puppet play, experience water play in Waterworks, or see model trains travel through miniature landscapes.

Outside, the Kids Go Green! Environmental Learning Center and Garden is helping children and families find a healthy connection with nature through gardening and nature studies. Through its interactive exhibits, summer camps, year-round classes, concerts and special events, the museum offers a range of activities as a family friendly regional museum providing hands-on experiences and life-long learning.

For more information, call the Children’s Museum at (865) 482-1074, extension 105, or see the Children’s Museum web site at www.childrensmuseumofoakridge.org.
