Oak Ridge firefighters helped battle a Tuesday morning blaze that severely damaged a single-story home on Cove Lane north of Oliver Springs.
No one was injured, but firefighters were not able to resuscitate a dog that was rescued from the brick house, according to information provided by Oak Ridge Assistant Fire Chief Josh Waldo and fire photographer Tom Scott.
Waldo did not have information on the cause of the attic fire, which started at about 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. Reports said the fire heavily damaged the home.
Bubba Russell, a former volunteer member of the Marlow Fire Department, lives at the home at 1312 Cove Lane, Scott said.

Oak Ridge Deputy Fire Chief David Harrington unsuccessfully attempts to revive a dog rescued from a Tuesday morning fire on Cove Lane north of Oliver Springs.
He said goats and rabbits in pens near the home were not harmed.
The Oak Ridge Fire Department sent a three-person engine company and Oak Ridge Deputy Fire Chief David Harrington. They assisted Oliver Springs and Marlow fire departments.
Other fire departments that responded to the blaze included Oliver Springs, Marlow, Blair, and Claxton. Anderson County Emergency Medical Services, Sheriff’s Department, and American Red Cross also responded, Scott said.
Waldo said Oak Ridge firefighters stayed about 1.5 hours, and other departments stayed longer.
