Montie C. Johnson, age 77, of Oak Ridge, died Friday, July 6, at the Methodist Medical Center.
She was born July 12, 1934, in Sullivan County, Tenn., the daughter of James R. and Mamie Lowe Cooter.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church. She was very active in the social community of Briarcliff Health Care Center, where she was a resident.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Johnson, in 1970.
She is survived by her mother, Mamie Lowe Cooter of Oak Ridge; son, Mike Johnson and wife Julie of Sewanee, Tenn.; daughter, Vicki Crabtree and husband Wink of Knoxville; sisters, Ivie Pierfelice, Alice Stamey and her husband Charles, and Christine Mahoney; grandchildren, Zack Johnson, Trent Johnson, and Katie Johnson; and many close nieces and nephews.
The family received friends on Sunday, July 8, from 6–8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral followed at 8 p.m. with Rev. Gregg Bostick officiating.
A graveside service was held on Monday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
