The Oak Ridge Community Band will play its Independence Day concert at 7:30 p.m. July 4 at A.K. Bissell Park.

The free concert, which will precede the city’s fireworks display, will feature the traditional “1812 Overture,” Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever,” some swing, Gershwin’s best pieces, a medley of Henry Mancini’s tunes, and “even some Glenn Miller big band tunes,” a press release said.

Organizers recommend arriving early for good seating. Bring lawn chairs or blankets, they said.

A.K. Bissell Park is located at 1401 Oak Ridge Turnpike.

Call (865) 482-3568 for more information.
